“The new AISC Seismic Design Manual provides engineers with useful tools, detailed examples and extensive explanation to facilitate the design of structures.
Books.google.co.th - Preface This document is the second volume of the three-volume SEAOC Seismic Design Manual. The first volume, “Code Application Examples,” was published in April 1999.
These documents have been developed by the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) with funding provided by SEAOC. Seismic Design Manual-Building Design Examples: Light Frame, Mansonry and Tilt-Up, Ronald P. Gallagher, 2000.
The AISC Shapes Database version 15.0 (v15.0) replaces v14.1 and contains electronic access to section dimensions and properties consistent with the AISC Steel Construction Manual, 15th Edition. Customary and metric units are both included. The AISC Shapes Database Version 15.0 is available in Microsoft Excel format. Major improvements in v15.0 include: • Dimensions and properties included for the 76 new shapes added to the 15th Edition Manual • New dimensions including the 'T' and 'Workable Gage' values printed in the Manual • New 'Readme' included in the spreadsheet that serves as the glossary of the variables and provides a complete list of improvements for v15.0 The AISC Shapes Database v15.0H (Historic) replaces the v14.1H and now includes all section dimensions and properties consistent with the AISC Steel Construction Manual, 14th Edition.
This resource provides electronic access to dimensions and properties of shapes published in the AISC Manual since the 5th Edition and shapes from before that era as originally published in the book Iron and Steel Beams 1873-1952 (the predecessor to AISC Design Guide 15, AISC Rehabilitation and Retrofit Guide). Thus, this database is the compilation of all of the structural steel shape dimensions and properties recorded by AISC from the year 1873 to 2010. • • • An electronic Shapes Database for ASTM A1085 rectangular, square and round HSS can be downloaded.
The Basic Design Value Cards are a design aid for the 2016 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360-16). These cards present some of the most frequently used equations from the Specification in a simplified and abbreviated format. Card 1 contains equations to calculate the available strength of W-, S-, C-, and MC-shapes in tension, shear, flexure and compression. Card 2 provides equations for determining the available strengths of bolted or welded connections and connected parts. Card 3 is similar to Card 1 except it covers the available strength for square, rectangular and round HSS shapes. Card 4 gives a summary for stability design of structures using either the first-order, effective length, or direct analysis methods.
This card also provides a 'simplified method' that is based on the effective length method. These cards have limitations and are not intended to be solely relied upon as a replacement to the Manual or Specification. Note that some solutions obtained using this card may be more conservative than those provided by the Specification. As indicated in the Related Info and Notes sections on the cards, there are certain situations where the equations on these design cards may not be applicable, or an equation may require use of a modification factor.

ASTM A1085: New HSS Standard In the second quarter of 2013, a new ASTM standard for HSS was released titled ASTM A1085. The new standard provides an HSS with improved performance and can result in more efficient steel designs. AISC has prepared a number of resources below to help introduce A1085 into the steel marketplace and to help engineers use it in design.
Shapes are available in square, round and rectangular sections. Shape Dimensions and Section Properties Shape dimensions and section property tables are available in PDF format based on the nominal wall thickness for square, round and rectangular A1085 HSS. • • • The shape dimensions and section properties for square, round and rectangular A1085 HSS are also available in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
